The Danube Region: building cohesion for a shared prosperity
Romania’s National Coordinator Radu Gorincioi invited Jürgen Raizner to attend the launching event of the Romanian Presidency of the EUSDR.
November 5-6th , Bucharest: Presidency of EUSDR was handed over to Romania at 7th Annual Forum what took place in Sofia. The launching event of Romanian Presidency was organized by Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Romania and the Ministry of Regional Development and Public Administration. Purpose: to reactivate EUSDR by establishing proper priorities and target orientet lines of action. National and international experts, as well as members of the Romanian interministerial group, established to implement EUSDR, representatives of both Romanian Parliament and Presidential Administration attended this launching event. Romania holds presidency to EUSDR from November 1st, 2018, to October 31st, 2019.
For Steinbeis Transfer Management, represented at National Forum by Mr. Jürgen Raizner and Roxana Boboruta, this event was a great opportunity to re-affirm the 20 years of active involvement in strengthening competitiveness as a priority in general. In session dedicated to the participation of the civil society to the implementation of EUSDR (‘National Participation Day’ type), European Early Innovators Initiative, was promoted as a priority for strengthening youth entrepreneurship through connecting business and academic environment. He took the chance to be invited to an intervention at the afternoon session, to point out the synergies of EEII and other ongoing projects. Long-term partner of Steinbeis, Mr. Eric Bartha in his quality as General Secretary of Council of Danube Region and Cities, emphasized in his presentation once again the high importance of macro-regional strategies for the future of European Union.
During the Forum, officials and promoters highlighted not only the openness to support but also the need to receive proposals for strategic projects during Romania’s presidency.
Romania will host in 2019 the 8th edition of the EUSDR Annual Forum becoming the second EU state-member of the Strategy (after Germany), which will take the responsibility to organize two editions of the this forum since the Strategy was launched. In total more than 50 events are scheduled for taking place in Romania. Each is a platform for stakeholders and decision makers to contributing to new success of EUSDR.
