Bucharest | 13.10.2023
During a recent visit to Bucharest, Sector 6 had the honor of hosting Dr. Andre Baumann, State Secretary in the Ministry of the Environment, Climate Protection, and the Energy Sector of Baden-Württemberg, Germany, along with a delegation of German parliamentarians. The visit to sector 6 has been initiated by Mrs. Oana Özmen, Member of Romanian Parliament. The Steinbeis Team, Jürgen Raizner and Roxana Boboruta, attended the tour of the environmentally focused developments in the sector.
The visit began with a tour of the energetically rehabilitated and modernized “Saint Andrew” School, including its new after-school facility built to nZEB standards.
The German delegation, received by local officials such as public administrator Paul Moldovan and school inspector Daniela Bădescu, expressed admiration for the “green oasis” created in Parcul Liniei from a former wasteland, and took multiple photos to capture their experience. They also visited the Sector 6 City Hall, where they were greeted by Mayor Ciprian Ciucu and discussed various successful and prospective projects, with particular interest in initiatives to develop the western area of Romania’s capital.
The municipality highlighted the importance of learning from Germany’s extensive experience in promoting green energy, especially as Romania works towards joining the Schengen Area. The delegation’s visit, which lasted over three hours, is seen as a step towards forging strong partnerships with the German federal state, with potential collaborations aimed at intelligent energy management, community development through investments, and strengthening economic cooperation.
