Bucharest, 16.12.2024

On December 16, 2024, the second edition of the European Business Leaders Gala took place, a prestigious event that brings together leading figures from various economic sectors. During the event, the Romanian division of the international Steinbeis network, Steinbeis Transfer Management, was awarded the Distinction of Excellence in Technology Transfer. This recognition highlights the company’s outstanding achievements in the field of technology transfer.

A Unique Format for Recognizing Economic Excellence

The European Business Leaders Gala, organized by the European Business Leaders Foundation, a non-profit organization that unites entrepreneurs and business leaders from across Europe, provides a platform for sharing experiences, developing strategic partnerships, and exploring new business opportunities. The foundation’s mission is to create an ecosystem where innovative ideas can take root and thrive.

The methodology for awarding distinctions is unique in Romania: in addition to a fundamental analysis of the nominated businesses, recommendations from other entrepreneurs play a critical role. These recommendations are provided anonymously and in full compliance with GDPR regulations.

Steinbeis Transfer Management: A Success Story in Technology Transfer

Founded in 2005, Steinbeis Transfer Management has successfully implemented the German Steinbeis model of technology transfer in Romania. This model is characterized by its clear structure, strong international orientation, and demand-driven approach. It specifically addresses the innovation gap between Eastern and Western Europe, helping small businesses execute innovation projects with larger companies.

In Romania, businesses benefit not only from access to an international network of technology transfer centers but also from close ties to German investors, who account for 60% of foreign direct investment (FDI) in the country. Particularly in the automotive industry, knowledge partnerships based on German methodologies open up opportunities to develop a robust local supplier network. This contributes not only to economic growth but also to the strengthening of local communities.

The Award for Steinbeis Transfer Management

The award was accepted by Roxana Boboruta, Senior Project Manager at Steinbeis Transfer Management. In her speech, she highlighted the advantages of the German model for technology transfer and explained why Romanian companies, in particular, can benefit from this approach.

The European Business Leaders Gala underscores the importance of innovation and partnerships for Europe’s economic development, offering a platform where success stories are shared, and new perspectives are fostered.

We thank Marius Todos, President of the European Business Leaders and a visionary technology and consulting entrepreneur, founder of Todos & Co for the invitation and for the award. We hope to take the best on this chance and start projects together
