In April this year at the Uzhgorod University held a meeting with the director of the German Foundation for Technology Transfer “Shtaynbays» ( «Steinbeis») Jürgen Raizner – then already a guest reported the conditions of opening one of its centers in UzhNU.

Then on December 1, university rector Vladimir Smolanka with guests Jurgen Raizner officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding between Uzhgorod National University and the Center for Technology Transfer “Shtaynbays.”

Rector thanked the guests who agreed to take part in an international conference to attract financial resources of the EU: “Our guests come with new ideas that are willing to share with us. We hope that the current exchange of experience for both sides will be the foundation for fruitful cooperation in years! “.

From presentations at the conference were Martin Sinkule (Institute of Regional Development, Prague) with the presentation of the project «RESOURCE» and Natalia Liholot (Joint Technical Secretariat), which described the program CBC Hungary – Slovakia – Romania – Ukraine, stressing the success of the program and its continuing by 2017. On the “Programme CBC Romania -Republika Moldova – Ukraine 2007-2013: the experience of the past period and the future priorities” Yulia reported to Hrytsku-Andries (Joint Technical Secretariat).

Taisiya Symochko (National Contact Point “Horizon 2020” in Uzhgorod National University) spoke about the new features in the program “Horizon 2020”, namely the work program for 2016-2017 years for social challenges 1 and 2.

Director of the Center for Technology Transfer “Shtaynbays” Jurgen Raytsner reported examples of already completed projects and shared plans for cooperation with Uzhgorod National University.

Fund “Shtaynbays”, by the way, is named after its founder Ferdinand Shtaynbaysa who lived in the nineteenth century. His name also named streets, schools, indicating the specific merits of this man. However, the current center has nothing to do with then: modern organization was founded in 1971 – then opened only 6 centers. Over the years, their number has grown to thousands. It was later established private university, which has about 6,000 students.

“The Fund is a coordinated system network centered in Germany, which involved about 6000 experts and over 700 professors at universities.Recently, we have completed more than 15,000 projects. We are ready to assist in the implementation of your ideas forward to a fruitful and useful collaboration for all of us “- said Mr. Raizner.
